What a very special afternoon of wonderful drama in the fabulous Ormond Castle yesterday... celebrating Heritage Week 2024 in collaboration with OPW.
Making history happen here in Carrick-on-Suir...
Staging an original short social history drama 'It's Now or Never'...a fictional narrative written by 4 local writers Mary McGrath, Heather Comerford, John Corcoran and Joe Whelan - members of Writing Changes Lives Writers' Collective...brought to life by four super talented local actors Aileen O'Keeffe, Sheenagh Raggett, Enda O'Driscoll and Neill Bourke, inspired by the storytelling of over 20 older adults in the Day Care Centre, Greenhill and Sonas Nursing Homes, Carrick-on-Suir - recalling memories of when they were young, free and single in the late 50s/early 60s... co-directed by Mary McGrath and Maria Clancy, supported by Paula O'Dwyer, Margaret O'Brien and Liz Martin, produced by the Tudor Artisan Hub...in the fabulous Tudor Manor House at the Ormond Castle steps from the Hub...to two fabulous audiences...
It was on my bucket list to produce a social history short drama to stage in the Ormond Castle - thank you to this amazing creative team and to our older residents in the Community for generously sharing your stories - making this dream came true...
