Carrick on Suir, for Heritage, Business and Leisure - Video by Pete Smith
In 2017 Carrick on Suir Business Association launched a new digital marketing campaign – titled ‘Carrick on Suir, for Heritage, Business and Leisure’ . This campaign was funded by Tipperary County Council, directed and produced by Pete Smith in association with COSBA and the Tudor Artisan Hub, Arts Collective Carrick on Suir.
The Mission was to showcase Carrick-on-Suir as an attractive town to visit, to live in and for work and shopping; a place where new and existing entrepreneurs are encouraged and supported: where training and employment opportunities are actively generated.
Tales from the Towpath
Tales from the Towpath is the result of a collaboration of artists, writers, community workers, historians and fisher folk from Clonmel to Kilsheelan and on to Carrick On Suir. This short film captures some of the history, stories and perhaps even secrets of the Suir, and is a powerful reminder of the magic of the River Suir Towpath.
The film was created by Rachel Ray and Jack Allen, 4th year students of the Media & Design degree at Limerick Institute of Technology in Clonmel, in collaboration with The Tudor Artisan Hub Narrator contributors include Ralph O’Callaghan, Kathleen & Teresa Farrell, Kevin Power, Shay Hurley and Walter Dunphy. Videography by Pete Smith, Jack Allen, Rachel Ray and Stan Nugent Culture Night is brought to you by the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and the Creative Ireland Programme in partnership with Tipperary County Council.
